About Us
Message
Osaka was once known as "Japan's No. 1 textile town," where kimono fabrics and bolts of cloth were traded all over the country and where the glamorous kimono culture was deeply rooted among the common people. Facing the issue of "mass disposal of kimonos" in modern society in Osaka, we started an upcycling business that breathes new life into kimonos that are no longer in use.
Kimono that would have been discarded are transformed into vibrant aloha shirts. These shirts are made with careful handiwork by colleagues with disabilities who work at our Honmachi office. "The warmth that can only be created by human hands" and "designs that shine with individuality" are also a sign of respect for the diversity of the city of Osaka and the history that its people have created.
Our products are not just fashion items.
・A "recycling story" that gives new life to traditions that would otherwise be discarded
・"Welfare Story" supports the social participation and independence of people with disabilities
- "The story of the town" born from Osaka, a former textile city. These stories are embodied in each and every product.
We hope you will pick up a copy of "A New Circular Kimono Story from Osaka" and join us in experiencing the future of tradition and diversity that will connect us to the next 100 years.
Brand Concept
Kimono are imbued with history and emotion that is put into every stitch.
We reinvent such kimonos into new forms,
We aim to connect to the future.
Just as chopsticks are passed from person to person, our aloha shirts serve as a bridge to deliver feelings to loved ones.
Chopsticks ALOHA Original
Bridge sleeves
Our brand's aloha shirts feature a special " bridge sleeve " design that sets them apart from ordinary shirts.
This is an original Chopsticks Aloha pattern that is based on raglan sleeves but has a deeper, smoother curve from the shoulder to the sleeve.
This exquisite curve combines ease of movement with a unique silhouette, creating a balance between relaxed sophistication.
This is a one-of-a-kind piece that combines the lightness and relaxed feel of an aloha shirt with the functional beauty of ease of movement and a beautiful silhouette.
Shell button
The shell buttons, made from natural materials, are an important detail that determines the look of an Aloha shirt. Each one is carefully crafted by hand by artisans through a number of processes, from hollowing out the shell to carving and polishing.
No two pieces are alike, and each one has its own unique color, shine, and pattern - this is the charm of natural materials.
The craftsmen select each button to harmonize most beautifully with the kimono's pattern and the texture of the fabric.
We carefully select the perfect buttons for each shirt and sew them together, just like creating a work of art.
Pattern matching
The pockets and back seams are also carefully tailored so that the patterns flow naturally. This "matching of patterns" is proof of the craftsmanship.
The "fukuro-nigiri" stitching method, where the seam allowance is not visible on the outside, requires advanced skills and experience to align the patterns perfectly. Moreover, the fabric used is a one-of-a-kind piece of kimono fabric.
Since the same pattern is not repeated twice, a more delicate sense of style is required.
There is a lot of waste when matching patterns, but this is what makes the commitment to high-quality manufacturing stand out.
This is a garment of assured quality that is clear at a glance.
